Former Patient Account Representative Alleges River Oaks Engaged in Race and Disability Discrimination

Plaintiff was employed as a Patient Account Representative at River Oaks from Nov. 2005 to March 14, 2014. Plaintiff had foot surgery on Oct. 11, 2013 and was released to work by her physician on January 7, 2014; she was required to use a cane during her rehabilitation period. Plaintiff alleges that facility management would not let her use a cane while at work, despite white employees being permitted to use a cane at work. This case is ongoing as of May 24, 2016.
