Gulf Coast Treatment Center's failure to maintain facility generator creates fire safety hazard

Gulf Coast Treatment center was cited by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) for violations of generator maintenance and testing regulations. AHCA determined that the “facility failed to properly test and maintain the generator as required as evidenced by the lack of documentation for the annual inspection and *-hour load bank test.” AHCA noted that “this deficiency could affect all occupants of the facility in case of a fire or other emergency.” The inspection report did not include a plan of correction. However, AHCA interviewed the Maintenance Director who stated “it would be scheduled immediately.”
