Vines Hospital was cited by Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) for failing to immediately report and thoroughly investigate an allegation of possible abuse between two patients. The cited deficiencies relate to an incident in which two boys were practicing martial arts physical holds on each other, which were taught by a staff member. After the incident, one of the boys complained of shoulder pain. AHCA found that no incident report was completed for these events. As a result, the facility had to submit a plan of correction to address its cited deficiencies and deficient practices around reporting.
