Patients' Blood Pressure Not Monitored Per Policy

Timberlawn Mental Health System was cited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for failing to ensure that patients received medical care in a safe setting and that follow-up assessments were performed. CMS found that follow-up blood pressure assessments of patients with elevated and/or decreased blood pressure were not completed. The facility’s nursing policy stated that “Registered Nurse will assess each patient at a minimum every 8 hours and more often as deemed necessary.”
