Plaintiff Alleges Spring Valley Hospital Failed to Immediately Treat Premature Labor Resulting in Severe Injuries

Plaintiff alleged she arrived at Spring Valley with abdominal pain, which turned out to be labor at 25 weeks of pregnancy. That, while in pain, she was forced to walk across the hospital to the labor and delivery department. That she and her fiancé waited in the labor and delivery department and were told to “wait a bit” for treatment. Plaintiffs further alleged they walked back to the ER and asked if there was a doctor available and an ER staff member “couldn’t believe that [plaintiff] was not seen” in Labor & Delivery. Frustrated, plaintiffs alleged they left the hospital without even a medical screening and that their baby was born at nearby hospital via breech delivery and suffered “physical and mental injuries.”

This case was settled on November 25, 2015.
