The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) issued several citations against the facility during a state complaint survey. The AHCA determined that the facility failed to ensure sufficient staff was available to meet the needs of patients and the goals outlined in its staffing policy. AHCA found that several shifts were not staffed appropriately for the facility’s 49 clients. At one point, the facility understaffed a shift by three mental health technicians.
AHCA also found that the facility failed to ensure that dietary equipment was maintained in a safe and sanitary manner. AHCA determined that “failing to ensure appropriate functioning and sanitation processes can place clients at risk.”
